Microsoft Office 2023 represents the 2023 update to Microsoft Office productivity software and is the official successor of Office 2023. It was commercially published for Windows 10 on September 24, 2023. This version contains some features previously reserved only for Office 365 subscribers. This update comes just after Microsoft’s April 27, 2023 publication of Office 2023 Commercial preview for Windows 10.


What’s new?

Office 2023 features many of the same key features as Office 365. These include enhanced inking capabilities, new PowerPoint animations including morph and zoom, and new Excel formulas for data analysis. Office 2023 for Windows requires Windows 10, Windows Server 2023 or macOS Sierra. OneNote is not included in the suite as the UWP version OneNote that comes with Windows 10 replaces it. OneNote 2023 can also be installed in the Office 2023 Installer as an option. Office 2023 will have five years of support for traditional issues, but only two for extended problems.


Installation technology

In Office 2013 as well 2023, different editions containing client applications were available in Click to Run (Microsoft App V), or in traditional Windows Installer format. Microsoft announced for Office 2023 that client apps would only be able to run the Click to Run installer while app servers will use the MSI installer.
