Visual Studio Code v1.60.0 System Requirements

  • Windows 11, Windows 10, Windows8.1, Windows 7
  • ARM64 processor. 1.8 GHz x64 processor. Quad-core processors are recommended. ARM32 processors cannot be supported.
  • Minimum 4GB RAM. We recommend 16GB RAM for professionals who need to use common professional solutions.
  • Windows 365: Minimum 2 vCPUs. Maximum 8 GB RAM. It is recommended to have 4 vCPUs, 16 GB RAM and at least 8 GB.
  • Hard disk space requirements: From a minimum of 850MB to as high as 210GB depending on installed features; most installations require between 20 and 50 GB of space. To improve performance, we recommend installing Windows and Visual Studio onto a solid-state hard drive (SSD).
  • Visual Studio can only be used on a video card with a minimum resolution of WXGA (1366×768), or at 1920×1080.
